Being a Fire Officer in a Volunteer Fire Department is an influential position that requires leadership skills to promote positive results for the organization. This program will review the importance of having a thorough knowledge of your job, the tools trucks and equipment, training and certifications that are important to the job. Mentoring firefighters, understanding influence while being accountable for your actions and hard work to gain the respect of your crews.

Chief Roger Audette

Roger Audette is the Fire Chief for the Augusta, ME Fire-Rescue Department, a career Fire / Rescue / EMS agency in Maine’s Capital City. Chief Audette proudly served as a Volunteer Firefighter for 18-years with the Winthrop Maine Fire Department. With over 30 years of diverse experience, Chief Audette has served in many operational positions and capacities. Chief Audette is a graduate of the Paramedic Academy at Kennebec Valley Technical College and is a certified Fire Officer II and Instructor II. He teaches extensively in Maine and New England. He is President of the Central Maine Fire Chief’s Association and serves on the Maine EMS Board. . Roger resides in Readfield & Greenville, Maine and is the owner of Pine Point Fire Training, a Maine based fire training & consulting company.
